My Story
My name is Melody Gallegos. I was born in California but was raised in Las Vegas. I have also lived in Mexico as well as Miami Beach. I have been painting since I was a kid. It wasn’t until I was living in Miami that I had the chance to experience Art Basel. Slowly but surely my passion for art started to reignite.
Prior to starting my journey into art I was also a certified makeup artist. I had the opportunity to do makeup for weddings, special occasions, Quinceañera Magazine, Camp Do More Fashion Runway, and as well as Miss United States in 2014.
Like a lot of us, when the pandemic hit, it made me ask myself some serious questions about what I wanted to do with my life. Since then, I have been getting back into my art and making it a mission to share it with the world.
I have different styles of art, but the one that remains as a recurring theme are my bright and colorful colors. I am very inspired by our very own bright lights in the city, but also very heavily by my Mexican culture. I love creating big neon hearts, flowers, and positive messages. I believe by creating my artwork I can bring people happiness. The world needs more love in it. When I create my bright big hearts, they make me feel so happy inside and I hope that the viewers feel the same way.
Over the past three years I have had the pleasure of creating murals for the community.
I love creating art using different forms of canvasses from journals, your standard canvases, to large murals. I have a variety of different mediums I love to use.
